The County Ground clash ended in a goalless draw, with Reds striker Billy Sharp coming closest when he was denied by the woodwork in the second half.

Proctor, who deputised for boss Tony Mowbray on Tuesday night as he recovers from the effects of a virus, was glad to take something from the trip despite the result ending a six-game winning streak.

"We're delighted. We would have liked to have won the game, but this was our third straight away game and we looked a bit jaded," said Proctor, who had a stint at Forest as a player.

"We were playing against a very good Forest team who have some good players. We always knew it would be a tough game for us.

"All in all there were opportunities at either end and a draw was probably the right result.

"We had a couple of nice opportunities on the counter-attack but I think the biggest thing that came out of us tonight was the spirit of the boys.

"On the back of six big wins, it does create a good spirit and we needed that here. They put us to the sword at times and made it very difficult for us.

"This division is very difficult and is demanding, emotionally, mentally and physically, and we did well to come out of this with a point."
