Hudson's diving header, his third of the season, turned out to be the matchwinner at the Cardiff City Stadium and defensive partner Turner is hopeful of following suit having netted three times last season including a memorable goal at Wembley against Liverpool.

"Hopefully a goal from me will come soon too," he said. "I've had a couple of chances now and have hit the crossbar at Charlton and have put my head on a few things.

"But I'll concentrate on my defending and see if I can also chip in with a few goals too. Huds is doing it and if I can join in with that I'll be happy."

The 24-year-old has been a regular in the side having regained his place after a foot injury and the ex-Coventry defender believes there is plenty more to come as he continues to feature regularly.

"I don't think I've hit my top form yet this season," he said. "I had a little injury that set me back around six weeks and, after having a pre-season with the lads, I played the first two games and then missed eight due to a tear in my foot. But it was one of those things that you have to deal with."
