Town, who face Charlton, Middlesbrough and Yorkshire rivals Leeds in the space of seven days, are awaiting scan results on Vaughan's thigh problem, while fellow striker Beckford and winger Scannell have both been sidelined by hamstring injuries.

"All three are working with our physio staff, and all three of them feel they are improving, which is good news," Grayson told the Huddersfield Examiner.

"With injuries like these, there's a mental as well as a physical side and hopefully by Thursday we will be able to assess all three of them in a full training session.

"We'd love to have them back for what is a busy spell of games, but we'll take it day by day and match by match."
