Danny Batth: Backed to succeed by Edwards after his full debut

The 22-year-old, who came through the club's academy, started in place of the suspended Roger Johnson in the 2-1 defeat to Leicester last Thursday.

It was Batth's first Championship start for the Molineux-club and team-mate Edwards is adamant the midlands-born defender has a bright future ahead of him.

"Danny's definitely ready now," Edwards said. "He did well on Thursday which shows we've got plenty of depth in the squad," said team-mate Dave Edwards.

"He's probably unlucky not to have played more this season, perhaps the form of Roger and Christophe Berra has kept him out.

"But he's been knocking on the door for a while and now he's got his chance he might get a run of games, and he'll show he's brilliant.

"He's a big, powerful lad, but he'll get even better with games."
