Pearson wary of Foxes form

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson insists that they are in danger of throwing away the hard work they have put in so far this season.

After climbing into second place in January, the Foxes have won just one of their last seven games - which is threatening to derail their promotion push.

Speaking ahead of a crunch game with league leaders Cardiff City on Tuesday, Pearson says they need to improve.

"It is tough because we have worked really hard to get into a good position," Pearson told Sky Sports.

"But at the moment our performances are not reflecting some of the hard work we have done in the past and we have now got a very tough game [Cardiff] - but what a good opportunity for us to bounce back and get back to the level of performance we are looking for.

"You have to go out and do it, and there will always be people doubting - but what you must do is not lose sight of the fact we have come back from a few setbacks before and we have to show what we can do."

Pearson himself has come under the spotlight with some reports claiming he could be replaced following Saturday's 1-0 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

He said: "There is always pressure and I don't think that is any different now from any other time of the season, it is probably more visible with less games remaining.

"I am always fending off questions about my future and I have been asked again. I think that is normal when you are a football manager.

"We have worked very hard to get into this position. Our form currently is not what we want in terms of getting results.

"We looked like a side in a crisis of confidence at the minute, I can't fault the players' efforts, but we weren't fluid and didn't solve the problems Wednesday asked of us.

"But ultimately, I know that our creativity at the minute is not quite there.

"I don't think the fear factor is there. We just have to go out and play."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
