Albert Adomah: Playing in a new role for Bristol City

The Ghanian, who had been an impact substitute in recent week, scored a stunning open goal in a central role behind the striker in their 2-0 win over Middlesbrough last weekend.

And ahead of the trip to fellow strugglers Wolves the 25-year-old explained that he has been working on the new position ahead of the clash.

"I think the manager wants me to play behind the striker if I am involved," he said. "I am working on that role in training and hopefully if we keep playing that way and if I'm involved I'll keep improving as well and getting used to it.

"I am more used to playing out wide, it is something different. If I am called up to play on the wing I can do that, or right-back, or in goal or on the bench - I'll do that! A the end of the day he is the boss and you just have to listen to the boss."

Sean O'Driscoll has focused on his side's work ethic, their organisation and ability to win the ball back, and Adomah admits that thinking may be behind his new role.

The former Barnet man said: "He knows I am a winger but at the same time I am not that disciplined, I am not embarrassed to say that, and I think maybe if I was to play out on the wing I might let the team down.

"When I play out on the wing I want to attack more and maybe that could be our downfall."

City and Wolves, 24th and 23rd in the Championship, are just separated by goal difference ahead of the clash at Molineux.
