Sean Dyche: "Robbed" of victory at Ewood Park

Sean Dyche: "Robbed" of victory at Ewood Park

The Clarets were poised to win their first Lancashire derby clash at Ewood Park for 34 years until Rovers veteran David Dunn struck a dramatic equaliser in the 94th minute.

But Dyche insisted that Dunn was offside when latching onto Jason Lowe's flick-on from Cameron Stewart's chip into the box.

He said: "It doesn't feel like a defeat, not at all. It feels like a result that's been taken away from us by an official's decision.

"We've had too many of them. I've seen it and David's two yards offside. That is the turning point in a game we deserved three points in and, of course, the bragging rights.

"The offside goal at that stage of the game is unacceptable, I think."

But Dyche had no complaints over the 65th-minute dismissal of youngster Ben Mee, who picked up bookings for two reckless tackles in just seven minutes.

"I spoke quite clearly when I came here - the minimum requirement is maximum effort," Dyche added.

"Sweat on the shirt, being proud of the shirt. That's a good advert for it today and I'm sure our fans appreciated what they saw."
