The Seasiders announced last week that they are in talks with the 29-year-old over a fresh deal at Bloomfield Road.

Sylvestre closed the season in impressive fashion with four goals in six matches following more than a little gentle coaxing from boss Ince on the training ground.

"The problem with Ludo when I first got here was, because he wants to get on the ball and make things happen, he was actually going (backwards) past his midfield players to get it," the manager explained. "So every time he got it he was in the wrong areas.

"He needed to start playing more advanced. In a 4-3-3 system you want to be closer to the striker where you can make things happen in the final third.

"I told him he needed to shoot more because there were situations where he could shoot but tried an intricate pass.

"Every time he didn't shoot in training I would give him a rollocking. Once he's started shooting he's scored four or five fantastic goals for us at crucial times.

"He's a fantastic player, he's one you want to keep because I'm ambitious and want to move forward. I don't want to suffer this (a mid-table finish) again next season.

"If you can keep your best players and build around them then you've got half a chance because the spirit at this club is fantastic."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
