The 22-year-old has enjoyed a superb season on loan at Easter Road, scoring 28 goals to secure the players' young player of the year, Clydesdale Bank player of year, and Scottish football writers' player of the year awards.

But any hopes Hibs had of keeping the player have been dashed by Wolves' decision to take up an option to extend the deal Griffiths signed when moving to Molineux from Dundee in January 2011 by another year.

Griffiths, who made his Scotland debut in a friendly win over Luxembourg in November, has only made one substitute appearance for Wolves, who are without a manager after Dean Saunders was sacked earlier this month.

Griffiths is in line to play for Hibs against Celtic in the final of the Scottish Cup on May 26.
