The Lions' combative midfielder has yet to play this season following a summer knee operation, but he has now resumed full training and should feature for the club's Under-21s against Swansea on Friday afternoon.

Lomas, whose side have yet to pick up a point or score a goal this term, said: "Liam will hopefully get some game time on Friday, and I for one will be delighted to see him back available for the first team before too long.

"There are not too many 6ft 3in midfielders capable of scoring goals operating at this level and he has been a big miss for us."
