Paddy McCourt: Will be reunited with former team-mate David Flitcroft

The 29-year-old former Rochdale and Celtic player follows Norway international Marcus Pedersen into Oakwell and could go straight into the squad for Saturday's game at Blackburn.

McCourt, capped 13 times by Northern Ireland and who made 90 appearances for Celtic, trained with Hibernian earlier this summer.

But he has reunited with Tykes boss David Flitcroft, who played alongside the Irishman during his playing days at Rochdale and could feature at the weekend, paperwork permitting.

e was right to leave, but not just because of the money City were coming into. If I remember rightly he had a reasonable amount of chances to shine at City, but he never passed the bloody ball. Loads of aimless dribbles and 40 yard shots and not much else. I would say that if he had learnt to be a bit more of a team player he may have done better at City.
