Redknapp has already borrowed Tom Carroll and Benoit Assou-Ekotto from Spurs this season.

Striker Adebayor is out of favour at White Hart under Andre Villas-Boas, and is training with the reserves.

But former Spurs boss Redknapp admits it would be difficult to persuade the 29-year-old to drop down to the Championship.

"He'd be a great loan, that's for sure," said Redknapp.

"I don't know what will happen with him. He's a good player but it's up to Tottenham, they have lots of good players.

"He can't go on loan in the Premier League, he can only go into the Championship but whether he'd want to do that - it would be difficult I think."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
