The former Newcastle forward has endured a difficult start to his career at Ewood Park, having missed most of last season with a knee injury before finally opening his account against Derby in August.

But, after being dropped to the bench against Doncaster later that month, Best reportedly responded to a fan on Instagram by claiming he had been demoted from the XI for questioning boss Bowyer's selection.

Bowyer has not included Best in his matchday squad since but, following an apology, insists he is available for selection once again.

"He's apologised to the staff and to the players for the comments and we are all mature enough to forgive and forget and get on with it, and that is what we have done," Bowyer told the club's official website.

"Best has had a tough year with his injury and he's frustrated because he's wanted to play and we are hoping if he gets the opportunity against Huddersfield that he takes it out on them."

alcao really needs to shine now. Apparently according to the stats, he scores more when played up front alone. I wonder if Van Gaal will actually apply a formation to get the best out of him though.
