Nugent scored both goals in Saturday's 2-1 win over Barnsley to take his tally to six for the season and keep Leicester in third spot in the Championship table.

The former England forward is out of contract next summer, but he hopes to do enough to earn a new contract to extend his stay at Leicester.

"My targets are clear - help Leicester win promotion and clinch a new contract," said Nugent.

"I love it here and hopefully, if I can keep scoring goals, I will be offered a new deal.

"I badly want another one and I want it to be at Leicester

"It's a case of so far, so good in that respect."
