The 30-year-old former Derby and Sheffield Wednesday striker signed a new one-year contract with Nottingham Forest in the summer, but has not featured for Billy Davies' side this season and has returned for a second loan spell at Oakwell.

"It feels very good to be back and hopefully I can carry on where I left off," said Tudgay, who scored three goals in nine games for Barnsley while on loan at the end of last year before a broken collarbone cut short his stay at the club.

"The boys are great, the club's massive and the fans were brilliant with me, and the coaching staff, so I'm looking forward to it.

"There were a few other clubs interested but that wasn't meant to be and when Flicker (David Flitcroft) rang and asked if I fancied it, there was no hesitation, I said 100 per cent, I'll be there at nine o'clock in the morning.

"I'm here and I want to do well for Barnsley. Call it a shop window if you want, my contract's up at the end of the season and we'll see what happens.

"In theory you could say I'm playing for a move because it isn't looking like it's going to happen at Forest and it's a chance for me to show I can play in the Championship and still score goals.

"But I'm not coming here to be selfish. It's not all me, me, me, my intention is to help lift Barnsley up the table.

"Barnsley play good football, they can match any team in the league, it's just a case of that final pass in the final third.

"If that means extra work on the training ground let's do it, it's a great club so let's do well for the manager."

h Daniel. I could spend hours on this subject putting the world to rights. You can even take a step back and ask why football fans (and society in general) have this need to know that something will happen before it actually does. There are times this important, when it comes to things like war, food production and natural disasters. A man you've never met changing his job? Not so much.

reat article. Hits the nail on the head. Encapsulates why I don't read tabloid newspapers anymore. The only thing worse is the 'told you so first' headline when they get lucky.
