Albrighton has linked up with the newly-promoted club on a four-year deal after being released by Aston Villa, where he had been since the start of his career apart from a brief loan at Wigan Athletic.

He is still only 24 but Nigel Pearson has entrusted Albrighton with an important role in helping the youngsters at the King Power Stadium and he is looking forward to the challenge.

“That was something the manager mentioned to me and it is something I will happily do,” said Albrighton in the Leicester Mercury.

“I will provide any advice and try to help the lads out as much as possible with whatever we need.

“It is a bit different in the Premier League but I am sure the lads will adapt.

“As well as that, I am coming here to learn myself. I am only 24 and I want to keep developing as a player. I am sure I will do that here.”

Leicester amassed 102 points in the Championship to secure a return to the Premier League, but Albrighton believes they will have to learn to be more patient.

He explained: “You are going to come up against teams who are going to have a lot of possession, who are going to frustrate you, so it is about keeping your cool and not panicking and rushing into things.

“It is about keeping going, working hard to get the ball back, and then when you get it, keep it.

“When I was at Wigan in the Championship it was a quicker tempo and the ball was in and out of play a lot more.

“Whereas in the Prem, you will have a team that will keep it for four or five minutes. You are chasing shadows.

“It is vital to keep the ball. When you look at the sides who were in the relegation scrap last season, that was their problem, keeping hold of the ball.”

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
