Belgian entrepreneur Duchatelet has wasted little time in adding to the Addicks squad by landing Standard Liege midfielder Astrit Ajdarevic on a six-month loan.

Powell does not expect the new owner to throw his money around this month but anticipates further additions and is also keen to secure the futures of a host of key players who will be out of contract at the end of the season.

He told the club website: "I think it's a real positive move for everyone. He's very respectful of the football club and supporters and he will listen to everyone.

"He has ideas and he wants to improve the club on and off the field, no doubt.

"I'm sure everyone's looking at it and thinking it's going to be about spend, spend, spend but it won't be that. He's taken everything into consideration - financial fair play, what the club's doing commercially, what we do with our Trust, what we do with our supporters and he's immersing himself with everything. That's only right.

"He wants us to do well and he wants to build on what we've done. He's recognised that it's been harder for us this year financially, budget-wise and player-wise. He knows that.

"But he also knows that there's other issues to deal with and I'm very confident that he will deal with them. He wants to improve the squad and deal with player and staff issues as well as contract issues and that can only be great for us."

inners: All of us watching the latest installment of The Daley Blind Hour. This weeks episode was called Sun Kissed In Merseyside, and although it was a bit of a downer, he was splendid to look at.

think Liverpool should start trying alternative therapy now, given that Sturridge's hips and knees are apparently unfathomable to modern medicine. Voodoo, acupuncture, healing oils, rolling in the snow after a hot bath, its all got to be worth a go now.
