Miralem Pjanic: Being linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer of 2013

Lampard is expected to bring to an end a 12-year association with Chelsea in the summer of 2013, with the England international having revealed that no talks have been held regarding an extension to his current contract.

His departure will leave the Blues with a considerable void to fill, with Lampard's vast experience and keen eye for goal having made him an integral cog in the Stamford Bridge machine for over a decade.

It has been rumoured that Pjanic will be asked to fill his sizeable boots, with the 22-year-old having shown during his time at Lyon and Roma that he possesses many of the same attributes as Lampard.

The Bosnian playmaker has hinted in the past that he would like to test himself in England at some stage of his career, but for now the highly-rated youngster is reluctant to be drawn into a debate on where his long-term future will lie.

Pjanic said: "I am flattered to be linked with a team such as Chelsea, a European Cup winner, but I have a contract here at Roma.

"Could I replace Frank Lampard? He is a legend there. He has done so much for the club and I hope to achieve such feats myself one day."

Reports in Italy claim Roma would only be willing to listen to offers of over €15million (£12.2m) for Pjanic.
