Oriol Romeu: Chelsea midfielder linked with Valencia loan

Reports have claimed that Chelsea are willing to let Romeu head out on loan and he has been linked with a move to Celta Vigo.

However, Valencia have emerged as the leading candidates to sign the 21-year-old, according to reports in Spain, and a deal could be concluded next week.

Valencia midfielder Canales, who is a former team-mate of Romeu at youth level for Spain, believes a move to the Mestalla would be good for the ex-Barcelona youngster.

"I have spoken with Oriol and I say sincerely that he is very taken by the option of Valencia," Canales told Superdeporte.

"This squad is perfect for a player to progress."

Romeu joined Chelsea two years ago from Barcelona, but he has been restricted to just 33 appearances during his time at Stamford Bridge.

He was linked with a loan move to Bolton Wanderers 12 months ago and he missed the second half of last season after undergoing a knee operation in December.

I

worry about these types of conclusions on a teams brilliance when it was very clear that Argentina had 4 chances where they really should have scored and on chances alone then it would have been the more pragmatic Argentinians who would be the best in the world. I like the Germany team but this just shows that even with planning it relies on a great deal of luck and finding your opponents at just the right time.

e all know the British public don't have the patience to plan for 14 years. No chance. As soon as our young players don't win the world cup they get harrassed and abused to the point of mental breakdown. No, England likes to react to failure by sacking the manager and tearing up their best laid plans in favour of something shiny and new to keep the knee jerkers happy.
