The Spanish international has been the subject of speculation that the Chelsea boss would be looking to move him out of the club following his return to Stamford Bridge.

Mata, signed from Valencia in August 2011, has won Chelsea's player of the year award in each of his two seasons in west London.

His involvement with Spain in the Confederations Cup saw Mata only return to training at Chelsea's Cobham base this week, and after meeting with his new club manager the 25-year-old appears highly motivated for the new season.

"I met with Jose on my first day in training. I think he's a great manager who did a really great job the last time he was here," Mata is quoted as saying in the Daily Star on Sunday.

"The break was really good for me. I had time to rest and disconnect from football - but now I am back at Chelsea and really looking forward to the new season.

"I'm really excited about it and I'm very happy to be here."

Summer additions such as German forward Andre Schurrle and Dutch midfielder Marko van Ginkel, along with returning loanees Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne, have added a depth the Chelsea squad that has excited Mata with a fortnight to go to the start of the Premier League season.

"I think all of us are waiting to win the Premier League title," Mata added.

"We had - and still have - a very good squad and it's good to know we have so many young, talented players lining up alongside players who are legends here.

"That is a great mix to have and means we can compete."

All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
