Speculation in Germany has claimed that Chelsea are ready to intensify their interest in signing the Switzerland international.

Rodriguez has been mooted as a long-term replacement for Ashley Cole and has impressed at Wolfsburg since joining from FC Zurich in January 2012.

The 21-year-old was linked with both Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the summer of 2012, and has also reportedly been scouted by AC Milan in the past.

However, Allofs is not worried by possible interest in the defender and he is pleased with Rodriguez's progress at Wolfsburg.

"Ricardo is going through a very excellent development," Allofs is quoted by Deutsche Presseagentur.

"It would be a great thing for our club if we end up in a situation that sees many clubs being interested in our first-team players."

enteke is an absolute steal for £32.5m, he would get into any team in the world (except Barcelona) at the moment. I've seen many very good strikers in my 30+ years as a Villa fan. This guy is the best without question.
