Srna has spent the past 11 years with Shakhtar but he claims there was an opportunity for his career to take a different path at one of Europe's two clubs.

The Croatian, 31, says he received offers from Chelsea and Bayern but was so committed to Shakhtar that he did not want to leave.

He also put the interest of his family first, and remains adamant that he was right to stay at Shakhtar.

"It is true, I had two concrete offers but I listened to my heart and remained at the club with whom I grew up for 11 years," he told Novosti

"If I moved, I would get more money, but as I said, it was a decision which was written in my heart.

"At the end I also did that because of my family which wanted to stay."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.
