Hayes’ side top the FA WSL ahead of defending champions Liverpool and third-placed Birmingham City Ladies as the domestic league season enters its final stretch.

Chelsea only won once in the league last season, finishing one from bottom last year but have emerged as serious title contenders with six wins from 10 matches so far this term.

And England forward Aluko lauded the management style of the former Chicago Red Stars head coach who has helped bring about a turnaround in the club's fortunes.

“Emma knows what she’s doing and her approach is very thorough and very deliberate,” Aluko told Sky Sports. “She’s been brilliant for us as a team

“She’s had a few tips from Mourinho too so maybe that’s rubbing off on her, particularly in relation to the media, but that’s all part of her management.

“She’s been all over the world coaching and learning from different philosophies and ethoses and it’s something that English football needs.

“You need to be able grasp the best of what other cultures have to offer and be able to bring that to English game.

“Tactically managerially and even psychologically at times she’s really delivered in terms of her management but what’s most important is the players are playing for her.

“We’re sticking to the gameplans that Emma and the coaches are setting out for us and we’re achieving good things.”

Chelsea next game is Thursday’s visit to Arsenal Ladies, who recently announced that Spaniard Pedro Martinez Losa would replace Shelley Kerr as the club’s next permanent manager.

That leaves Hayes as the sole female manager in the top flight of women’s football and Aluko is desperate to do well for her manager.

“I think Emma is a great coach and foremost and a female second. Whatever her gender is, is not important.

“From an overall picture we’d like to see  more female mangers in the game but it makes it all the more sweeter if we do well this season because Emma will be the only female in the league.

“I just want success for Emma. Hopefully she’ll be the last female standing at the end of the season.”

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
