Glenn Murray and Stephen Dobbie scored for the hosts but ended up a little relieved to secure the spoils after Jonathan Parr's bizarre late own goal set up a tense finale.

It left the London side in fourth spot, four points off second spot, and kept them sniffing an automatic promotion place.

"Some of the combination play is now coming off. It was a great finish for the first goal," Holloway said. "We flowed after the first goal, from a great pass from Mile Jedinak.

"It was a classic pass and finish and as good as Charlie Adam used to hit them. It was quite bizarre at the end of the game with the own goal, and if we hadn't got the second goal we would be devastated.

"The fizz wasn't there, but it was good enough in another hard game. But that is six points from two games and it's a long way to go yet. But we are improving all the time and it has been a good night.

"It's exciting times for us. It all bodes well and let's see what we can do. There's some big games coming up for us. It's another win to notch up and we move on to the next one."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
