The 27-year-old, who can play at left-back and in the centre of defence, heads for South London on a free transfer from Bordeaux.

Marange, who is a former France Under-21 international, has spent all of his career in his homeland so far.

He started out with Bordeaux in the 2004-5 season and has made more than 100 appearances since, as well as having spells on loan with Nancy and Le Havre.

Marange is the third French-speaking arrival at Selhurst Park in the last fortnight, following Elliot Grandin and Marouane Chamakh.
