The Scottish forward is taking in a third spell at Bloomfield Road, with previous stints in 2010 and 2012 bringing Championship play-off final appearances under Ian Holloway.

Dobbie admits the club holds a special place in his heart and he would welcome the opportunity to stay on past the end of his initial agreement, which is due to expire in January.

The 30-year-old playmaker told the Blackpool Gazette: "I'd like to extend it until the end of the season.

"I keep coming back here as I love playing for Blackpool."

It is easy to see why he is enjoying himself at present, with his solitary strike at Nottingham Forest on Saturday leaving Blackpool fourth in the second tier standings.

Dobbie sees no reason why they cannot remain in the promotion mix and, if he sticks around, why he cannot push for a fifth successive play-off final outing - having graced the richest game in football with Blackpool on two occasions, Swansea City and Palace.

He added: "As long as we keep getting three points here and there we will be up there.

"That's what I'm here to help the club to do, and I'm sure if we keep picking up points like we are, we'll be there or thereabouts. I'm just here to help the boys and the gaffer get to where they want to be.

"Last week I thought I played really well and showed I was back to my full fitness.

"I'm just glad to get my goal out of the way, and now I can focus on getting some more and setting up goals too.

"We've got a great team spirit here and we're unbeaten in seven games now, so credit to the lads. On Saturday we kept going right to the end and we got our reward."

e have the personnel. The trick is keeping them fit. Carrick and Blind have missed large chunks of the season, while the defence has been one muddled mess of intermittent stooges, all coming and going at various intervals thus far. We may be just short of title winning quality, but we're half way through. An injury crisis to either of the top two could change things. Optimistic, yes, but not unrealistic.

arish is the man to blame for this shambles. Pulis must be chuckling into his left over turkey sandwich. I pray this doesn't mean the Neil Warnock media machine will kick in now and he'll be back on the telly box.

e almost found a new way to lose, just when I thought it was getting boring Giroud does that. Although Arsenal are deservedly called 'soft' the entire midfield is out injured. Still must admit MU are managing to win despite a similar raft of absentees. Think the Gunners have good players but poorly coached.
