Jacobs: Has admirers

Jacobs, who will be out of contract in the summer, came through the youth system at Northampton and has attracted the interest of several Championship clubs this season.

The Cobblers rejected a bid for the 20-year-old on Tuesday morning, although Derby boss Nigel Clough insists it did not come from the Rams.

"We are certainly aware of him (Jacobs) but no bid has been made," Clough told the Derby Telegraph. "I am sure he might have the pick of a few clubs, so we will see how it goes. We will see what the situation is at the end of the season with him."

Clough also confirmed that Liverpool's 18-year-old left-back Robinson is a possible loan target.

"He is a lad who we have had on our list all season just as cover in the left back position," added the Rams boss. "We make a list of possible loans and if anything happens to Gareth Roberts the list is there to tell us where we can go and get a loan straight away, and Jack Robinson fits into that category."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
