Goals in the 11th and 53rd minute set the striker up for a hat-trick but Clough sent on Nathan Tyson for the last 24 minutes - much to Robinson's chagrin.

"He was on a hat-trick so he wasn't exactly chuffed about it," said Clough.

"But he had been carrying a bit of a strain in training and with a game here against Barnsley on Tuesday it made sense to bring him off.

"If he's disappointed about it, he can score a hat-trick against them.

"It was the complete performance, exhilarating. We did everything right to take advantage of a difficult situation for Blackpool."

irst Townsend, now Chiles. What next ITV? Comedy that you can actually watch without vomiting up your own spleen? I'll be sad to see Matt Smith go though. I actually quite like him. Plus, he was good in Doctor Who.

wful, awful pundit. He was crap on BBC, and offered a little more analysis than Robbie Savage - apart from the delivery of banality in a sexy accent. Also, as I'm Irish he'll never be more then a slimy, hand-balling f**ker in my eyes.
