Nathan Tyson: Optimistic Nigel Clough will give him an opportunity

Tyson has scored three goals in six substitute appearances for the Rams so far this season, including the winner against Birmingham on Saturday, and is pushing hard for a starting spot.

The 30-year-old saw a loan move to Huddersfield blocked earlier this season and that has encouraged the former Nottingham Forest man that manager Nigel Clough has plans for him.

"There have been opportunities for me to go and play elsewhere," said Tyson, quoted in the Mirror.

"The club put a stop to that - the obvious reason being Saturday.

"The way he's been with me, keeping me in the squad and getting me involved in games, shows he still wants me around.

"I've had a slow start but hopefully I can pick it up and get a few starts."
