Craig Bryson: Knee injury

Bryson had been out for four matches with a knee injury and in the build up to the east midlands derby Rams boss Nigel Clough admitted the Scot needed a little more time to fully recover.

However, due to the importance of the fixture - and Bryson's importance to his team - Clough rushed back the 26-year-old, who managed 75 minutes of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Pride Park before he was replaced by Michael Jacobs.

"Ideally, he needed another week or so but given the nature of the game, we stuck him out there," said Clough.

"I thought he started brilliantly but his knee tightened up and he just couldn't last.

"We just hope he is okay for Saturday. He is one of our major players and we want him out there."

Derby host npower Championship rivals Blackburn in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the weekend.
