Naylor, 22, who was made available for transfer by Rams boss Nigel Clough this summer, will remain with the Welsh club until the beginning of January 2014.

Newport's Byron Anthony suffered a broken leg last week during their surprise Capital One Cup win at Brighton and Exiles boss Justin Edinburgh has drafted in Naylor as a temporary replacement.

Naylor joined Derby in November 2011 from then-Conference side Mansfield initially on loan before sealing a permanent move to Pride Park during the January 2012 transfer window.

He has made 10 first-team appearances for the Rams.
