The 31-year old has penned a one-year deal at Bloomfield Road with an option for a further year, having been allowed to leave Derby on a free transfer.

Tyson, who joined the Rams from fierce rivals Nottingham Forest in 2011, spent part of the last campaign on loan at Millwall, but injury restricted him to just four appearances.

The former Reading man netted five times in 41 appearances during his two-year spell at Pride Park, although it became clear that he did not figure heavily in Nigel Clough's plans this season.

Tyson becomes the eighth signing of the summer for Paul Ince, joining Blackburn Rovers full-back Bradley Orr in moving on transfer deadline day.
