Cisse, 29, a free agent, has been with the Rams for a fortnight and last week played 90 minutes in an Under-21 Premier League Cup tie against Hull City.

Derby head coach Steve McClaren is still keen to continue monitoring Cisse's progress, with the former Reading and Bristol City midfielder expected to feature in another Under-21 game on Wednesday.

"Kalifa has had one game and we will look at him again," said McClaren following his side's 1-1 home draw against Birmingham on Saturday.
