Freeman, 21, will join up with former Derby boss Nigel Clough and Rams team-mate Ben Davies, who arrived on loan at Bramall Lane last month.

The Wales Under-21 international, who recently completed a three-month loan spell at Notts County, is eligible for Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final clash with Charlton and could go straight into Clough's squad.

Freeman, who started out at Nottingham Forest, has featured for Derby seven times this season. He made 17 appearances for Notts County before his loan spell at Meadow Lane expired last weekend.
