Season likely over for Griffin

Andy Griffin is reportedly set to miss the remainder of Doncaster's title run-in after a scan revealed he has a torn hamstring.

Andy Griffin: Unlikely to play again this season

The 34-year-old right-back complained of a sore lower back and upper thigh following Rovers' 2-0 home defeat to Carlisle last Tuesday and missed out at the weekend as Brian Flynn's side came from behind to beat Crewe 2-1 to preserve their two-point lead at the top of the League One table.

A scan has shown a small tear in his hamstring, and with just 12 days left of the regular season Griffin will struggle to play any further part.

The news is a blow for the club as the injured Paul Quinn is also unlikely to play again this term.

Griffin joined Rovers on non-contract terms in October and has made 18 appearances in all competitions for the south Yorkshire outfit.
