Rob Jones: Underwent surgery on a neck injury

The former Scunthorpe defender went under the knife after struggling with the injury for the entire campaign.

Jones is now on the road to recovery and hopes to be heading a ball again in eight to 10 weeks.

"I'm very happy with how it has gone from the operation to now and at what stage I'm at," he told the club website.

"Now I hope it continues getting better."

Jones feels his added maturity at the age of 34 has helped him resist making a comeback too early.

"If this had happened five years ago I might have found it harder," he added.

"It was a serious operation and it's been a few crazy months for me, so I have to make sure I do not compromise my rehab."

I

think all those names linked to United exits make sense. Kagawa has never really looked like hitting the form he had at Dortmund and Fellaini is radioactive after last season (even though I think he's been unfairly singled out for criticism). Nani and Anderson have had more than their fair share of chances so they are done, and Hernandez deserves better than warming a bench.
