Holt still has England dream

Grant Holt believes his goal-scoring form for Norwich can still see him selected for England despite being overlooked previously.

Grant Holt: Norwich striker believes he can still do more than a job for England

The Canaries striker's sharp shooting tally last season saw him take scalps off Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Cheslea - scoring against the last three this campaign too.

Despite these statistics, the towering hitman has been overlooked by Roy Hodgson, with the England chief opting for youth up front in the midweek 4-2 defeat at Sweden.

However, a shining light for Holt is that fellow 31-year-old Leon Osman was given his first cap by Hodgson - a move which the big frontman took some optimism from in terms of his potential future selection.

"If you asked John Terry and Rio Ferdinand have they had a tough game when I've played against them, I'm sure they would answer yes," he told The Sun.

"If you're playing well, like Leon Osman is doing, then you should get called up.

"I've scored three in the last six games now. I'm up and running.

"If I keep scoring the goals and knocking on the door and it gets picked on form, then I won't be far off."

m curious as to what image Real Madrid are trying to re-establish as I always thought their pre-Jose image was one of a bunch of a classless bullies tapping up whoever they wanted while living it large on borrowed money they're never going to pay back.
