Ruddy returned to action after over five months on the sidelines due to a thigh injury in Norwich's 4-0 thrashing of West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

That result secured the Canaries' Premier League survival and Ruddy is now targeting a recall to the England squad.

"To be involved in the England squad would be fantastic," said Ruddy.

"Whether or not it has come too soon remains to be seen, but it would be fantastic to be given the opportunity."

The 26-year-old was ruled out of last summer's European Championship due to injury before making his debut in the August friendly against Italy.

England coach Roy Hodgson will announce his squad for the upcoming friendlies on Thursday after watching Chelsea's Europa League final against Benfica the day before.

The Three Lions face Ireland at Wembley on Wednesday 29th May before travelling to Brazil to meet the 2014 World Cup hosts in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday 2nd June.

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
