As a former manager of the senior national side, Hoddle has no desire to return to coaching with the Young Lions.

He is, however, willing to speak with the FA about tackling the issues which continue to undermine England's efforts on the international stage.

Hoddle has been outspoken in his criticism of coaching and the development of young players - with a disappointing showing from the U21s at this summer's European Championship highlighting his case.

He feels more needs to be done to address the problems and claims he would happily discuss the matter with incoming FA chairman Greg Dyke and director of elite development Dan Ashworth.

Hoddle said: "If the FA want to have a chat, that's fine, but it would have to be people at the top.

"If Greg Dyke wants to sit down and have a lunch and a chat, then fine, I would love to do that."

On the chances of him succeeding Stuart Pearce as coach of the U21 side, Hoddle said: "When you have been the senior manager, it would be difficult to go back in another capacity."

still can't see the Phil Jones thing that some people go on about. Whenever I watch him play it's a repeat of headless chicken meets a gurning Bambi on ice for 90 minutes.

P

robably the first list I've come across in a long time where I agree with a large majority of what was written. Can't agree with everything though, Zaba has had an awful season by his standards, I'd put Monreal (a player who I've never rated) up there, gotta give credit where it's due, he's really stepped up his game.
