Petr Cech: Would be happy to see Jose Mourinho back in charge

The Portuguese is widely expected to leave Real Madrid and return to Stamford Bridge to take over from Rafael Benitez in the summer.

Mourinho led Chelsea to Premier League titles in his first two seasons in charge, but he walked out on the club in September 2007 following reports of a bust-up with owner Roman Abramovich.

But he is a firm favourite to be offered a second spell at Chelsea, and goalkeeper Cech said: "With Jose Mourinho we had great success in the past and people still have great memories and admiration for him.

"If he comes back, the story will be interesting for everyone. He will be more than welcome."

Cech also paid tribute to Rafael Benitez, who was given a torrid reception from Chelsea fans after he was appointed as interim manager following the sacking of Roberto Di Matteo.

"It was not easy for him, with the reception he got," Cech added. "But he came here to help and to improve the situation for us and to do as best as possible. That is what we did, what he did, what the coaching staff did.

"This is maybe the reason why it's worked so far and we're in the Europa League final."

I

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

I

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.

'Tactically Inept And Lacking In Belief And Style'

It's fair to say that the 'Moyes Out' brigade is understandably out in force, whilst there are also staunch defences of Mourinho and Arteta. Plus, Liverpool fans can almost taste it.
