Phil Jagielka: Says Fellaini may struggle to get his place back

The Belgium international sat out the second of his three-match ban against Wigan on Boxing Day.

With the Toffees having won their last two games against West Ham and the Latics without him, the defender reckons the club now have enough strength in depth as they chase a top-four spot.

And Jagielka - who sealed three points for his side against the Latics - insists Fellaini should be a worried man as the Merseysiders prepare to take on Chelsea at Goodison Park on Sunday.

He told the Liverpool Echo: "Felli has been a massive player for us for the first part of the season, but we've done OK while he's been suspended so far which really bodes well.

"The manager knows he has a couple of options he can try and they've worked in the last two games. Victor (Anichebe) has come in and given us that presence up there, Naisy (Steven Naismith) has done really well when he came on.

"Felli is a big talent and when we heard we were losing him for three games we knew it wouldn't be ideal - but at this rate he might struggle to get back in!"
