Nikica Jelavic: Out of sorts

Nikica Jelavic: Out of sorts

Jelavic has failed to score in his last seven Barclays Premier League games and was once again ineffective in the 2-1 FA Cup win over Bolton, with his 79th-minute replacement Johnny Heitinga the one to summon the injury-time winner.

Jelavic's form is a far cry from the hot streak he started after signing from Rangers a year ago, but Moyes said: "I want to give him every opportunity to get it right and I felt this was an opportunity.

"I have been looking at it and I will need to look at it again. Obviously I want to give him every positive I can to show I trust him by playing him in the team.

"I would love to (bring another striker in) but I would be very surprised if I did."

Moyes is concerned the lack of depth in his squad could hit his quest to finally snare a piece of major silverware, despite making his intentions plain by naming his strongest possible side against the npower Championship side.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!
