Those of a red and blue persuasion will cross swords again on Sunday when a long-running local feud heads to Anfield.

Sterling is desperate to play some part in what is always an intriguing contest, with the youngster having been offered a taste of local rivalries at Goodison Park back in October.

The 18-year-old has been taken out of the firing line since then, with Brendan Rodgers wary of asking too much from the promising forward.

He is, however, in contention to play some part this weekend and admits he would relish the opportunity to experience a home derby.

Sterling told Sky Sports News HD: "People say the Man Uniteds and the Arsenals are big games but when it comes to Everton, they are the biggest because we're obviously from the same city and both sets of fans are at it.

"When I played at Goodison, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had.

"It's just the passion from both sides of the city. Obviously the red side is the one that we want to win, but the passion from both sides and the players is one of the best things you'll ever see in the game."

I

think all those names linked to United exits make sense. Kagawa has never really looked like hitting the form he had at Dortmund and Fellaini is radioactive after last season (even though I think he's been unfairly singled out for criticism). Nani and Anderson have had more than their fair share of chances so they are done, and Hernandez deserves better than warming a bench.
