The Spaniard suffered the problem during Saturday's 4-1 Premier League win over Fulham at Goodison Park.

The 19-year-old has been an impressive performer for Roberto Martinez's men this season, and last week scored a sublime solo goal to earn a point at Arsenal.

Everton revealed he would miss "a few weeks" with the injury.

Swansea are Everton's opponents on Sunday, with Sunderland and Southampton making up their Christmas opponents.

They head to Stoke on New Year's Day and then face Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup on January 4 with the Premier League clash with Norwich coming a week later when the Spain U21 international should be back in contention.
