Ryan Gauld, Stuart Armstrong, Gary Mackay-Steven and John Souttar have all been earning praise, particularly during the team's unbeaten six-match run towards the end of last year.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez was at Tannadice on Sunday to see United come from behind to secure a 2-2 Scottish Premiership draw with in-form Hibernian thanks to two goals in the last seven minutes.

The comeback ensured McNamara's men would not fall to a fourth consecutive defeat, and provided proof his young squad has an abundance of spirit as well as talent.

United have recently given contract extension to Armstrong, Gauld, Souttar and Nadir Ciftci, as well as Darren Petrie and Euan Spark.

When asked about any possible bids coming in for his players this month, McNamara said: "It's part of the game these days. You can't get away from it.

"There will be more of it in the next few weeks so I'll be happy when the window shuts.

"As far as I'm concerned, it's important that we keep them all so they can continue to learn their trade here."

haos reached its ultimate reckoning last weekend with Tony Hibbert looking assured at left back and Osman looking like a cultured ball playing midfielder before busting a gut to get to the back post for a Samuel Eto'o ball. Different chaos but chaos. If Kone scores the winner tonight I fear the world will end.
