Surely Joe Cole got an assist against Villa, with his cross turned into his own goal by the Villa defender? If that is not an assist, I don't know what is (actually, I don't really know what an assist is). In about 6 or 7 games since his return, he has created 3 assists (2 in the cup) and scored 1 - that isn't too bad in my book.

Didn't Joe Cole get two assists on his West Ham debut? Was that my imagination or was it in the cup?

Given the general pattern so far mikemanaman, I believe that stat will stay until Liverpool finally do beat someone on the top half. It'll no doubt be then replaced with 'have only beaten one team in the top half', the cheeky scamps.

I'm feeling short-changed on this numbers and stats now... can we have four from now on so you can copy and paste the unvictorious against top ten stat for the rest of the season, and at least give us another to match everyone else's three stats!!!

That's probably the most flattering picture of that Manchester United (I can't be bothered to remember his name, Phil Jones?) player I've seen so far.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!
