Eye On The Experts: Steve Claridge

For months, indeed, years, it seemed as if most of his insight consisted of suggesting a team was or wasn't "set up right". But it seems that Claridge is slowly learning on the job...

In fairness he's not getting chance to do a dissertation on the FLS, seeing as they have several thousand games to get through in half an hour

I like him. He's a football fan first and foremost and that dictates the tone of his punditry. Never overbearing, never smug or arrogant, just a bloke who likes to chat (almost in lay person's terms) about the game. Was also responsible for one of the most comical dives in football history when he fell over in the penalty area during the Arsenal-Wolves 1998 FA Cup semi-final with no-one within a couple of yards of him.

I like Steve Claridge, you slate him for saying teams are set up wrong or right, but in general he is right. He has passion and i think says what general football fans think. red-devil83, i too like Waddle just cant stand it when he continues to say "Listen" at the start of his sentences ... we are listening and yes he is generally right

I've been waiting for ages for you do to Claridge! Pretty much agree with that. I quite like him for his honesty and passion. Bit like Waddle really. Also, he's much better than Leroy Rosenior on the FLS.

e made his power play to try and get Sheikhy to raise his wages or trade him to PSG. PSG were probably not interested and he is stuck with no cake and no vacation. @Jay_D> Surely you jest about FFP being real, right? All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
