Pre-Season Friendlies On TV. Lordy.

It's like a handy shandy and a Pot Noodle when you're craving a bloody steak and a ride. And it's on our tellies. Get that off and get some proper football on now...

Sir, You are mistaken about Chad. Chad falls into beIN SPORTS territory, and back in March I recall Mr. Owen gracing the beIN studio next to Andy Gray and Richard Keys, enlightening us with some Champions League ramblings. So sand, terrotists and Mickey Owen. Officially the worst place to live in the world?

New Neutral Milk Hotel album? I know they're touring at the mo, but they've not had a new album out since the 90's. Granted, they released an EP like 3-4 years ago, but come on. You should know your readers well enough by now. If you're gonna quote obscure Americana bands to try and sound as though you're down with the kids, at least get your facts right 'cause there's always someone somewhere, with a big nose who knows...

Pre-friendly matches are not pointless and has been mentioned here they give fans in other parts of the world the opportunity to see their stars play live plus good tune up exercise for players. What is POINTLESS is when Channels like Skysports and BT sports try to hype it beyond what they are worth and that is ladies and gentlemen the POINT of this article.

I personally think pre-season friendlies are great. The PL has fans all over the world who don't get a chance to watch their teams play in person, so pre-season is a great time to take in a match and watching your team play. Yeah its basically a friendly and players are not fully fit and the results don't matter. Still its a lot of fun.

Didn't the United game in the US draw a record crowd of 109,318. Show that while the matches mean nothing, fans enjoy the spectacle and come out in numbers to take it in.

@doherty - No, you're mistaken, it's "Burgenland" not "Burgerland". Burgenland is the easternmost and least populous state of Austria, not that you've ever been outside London.

doherty (Chelsea) says...

Didn't Arsenal play Burgerland in a pre-season friendly once? They scored then, but then shipped two against an off-duty theme park. And it set the tone for their entire season.

So is this article not a real article even tho it looks and feels like a real article and the writers would love to think that it's a real article and there was time and effort put into it and it's presented on a website where there are usually real articles, even in preseason and it's the same level of noche that we can expect to be subjected to during the actual season?
