UM, stats be damned, Chambers was better than Rio, given that bot Ferdinand and Van Aanholt were at fault for their teams conceding goals there's obviously something wrong with the scoring system

Reports like these show why I hate stats to compare football performances. Van Aanhlot set up a goal but was hugely at fault for West Brom's second, not noticing Berahino at the back post. Stats dont work in terms of measuring bad marking........Whilst Rio gets a high score despite being at fault for the only goal of the game. Must have accumulated a high score with all those 10 and 15 yard completed passes

Ahh, the old statistics vs. watching and understanding the game debate again here. Interesting stats, but I'd suggest the likes of Fernando and Chambers "played better", even if not statistically so.

Francesc Fabregas.... Good to see he's still the fantastic little midfield maestro we Arsenal fans loved. What a great signing for Chelsea, and I'm sure more than a few gooners watched that cute, flicked assist with envy. I certainly wish he still pulled on the red and white.

Yes, these stats are right. Rio Ferdinand definitely had a better debut than Fernando.

not surprised about vah aanholt, always looked like he could be a very good player (as good as if not better than Bertrand) but never got a chance with us. There was talk of an attitude that stinks but im sure if he gets his head down he'll be in the Holland squad for 2016

I know it's only one game, and Arsenal have got an amazing midfield as is; but seriously, is Arsene Wenger the only person on Earth who doesn't want Cesc at their club?

e doesn't need a caoch. He needs a bus. A bloody big one, that he can park across the goal line. And when he gets one, he can do us a favour and let us know where we can buy one from as well.
