And we have to hope that the likes of Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez stay in the Premier League - and not in a Daily Mail-style 'Keep Bale In Blighty' style. We need them...

I don't understand this constant clamour for all the best players to be at the top 3 clubs or whatever. I'm sick to death of looking at Chelsea and Man City's bench and seeing greedy players sitting there who could be earning their living actually playing football for other clubs, using their skills to make the league more competitive, rather than a world war between two superpowers who stockpile weapons. The media will be the first to whine if two teams battle out the league every year like it used to be in the SPL, yet its the media who push players towards these clubs. The usual suspects will be linking Bale to Chelsea and Citeh in the summer. He won't go to either. He will stay Spurs or go to Madrid/Barca. The sooner the press realise that we're Tottenham Hotspur, a decent size club with CL aspirations, no debt and a strong board, and not a team that has to keep bending over for others, the better.

Sorry but you have no way of knowing that, he's just signed a new contract and Levy being Levy will only sell when he wants to, just look at Modric. Also all this guff about "he deserves the biggest stage a Welshman can realistically find", excuse me? Who made you his agent? This is the typical boll*cks that's peddled by the press in this country fixated with the top 4 and champions league. Bale is actually very level headed and recognises that where he is now is good for his development. I'm not stupid enough to think that he'll be playing his testimonial at the "new" WHL in 10 years time but think we'll keep him for at least 1 more year, despite the current pavlovian reaction of hacks who cannot mention the name Bale without talking about flogging him at the earliest opportunity. Truth is only Bale, Levy and AVB know what will happen

This article was dull and boring to read, it is also utter nonsense. I want Liverpool to do well, I don't really care about the overall quality of the League (which by the way will increase when the new TV deal kicks in as 'some' of the worlds best players that can't play for Barca, Real and Bayern will be gracing these shores from next season) don;t get me wrong I wouldn't be happy if it was as low in quality as say the Scottish League (no offence to the Scots there its just i dont get to watch much Swiss/Polish/Austrian/Iranian League football which Im told is of low quality) If the best players are abroad ill watch these them on various, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Eredivisie, Bundesliga shows on Sky/Espn (or BT sports from next year) so its no skin off my nose.

The irritation is starting to turn to boredom now. It is hard to miss the F365 party line that United aren't much cop, and I am actually starting to wonder if we are supposed to take seriously comments such as 'if Mourinho's men are on their mettle... the quarter finals could well be an all continental affair'. I am well aware United could get knocked out, since Madrid do have some tasty players, and there is going to be some serious "I told you so" happening on this site if Madrid prevail (reason in itself to want a United win), BUT FOR F#$K'S SAKE, this is United, at home, with very few injuries, with an away goal, in good form, Madrid having to play Barca twice before the return... I think you get the point. It's in the balance, no matter how well Madrid play. And what is more, if Barca get knocked out, it would be a brave or foolish man to bet against United winning the thing. That's my opinion, anyway.
